As I painted this stag I thought back to my years as a Creative Director - I had so much determination as a young woman in a man's world directing shows in different languages... how often I forgot or neglected or was unable to express tenderness in the stress of getting the show done.
This painting is about celebrating both the tender connections of the heart and the strong-willed determination needed to make a dream happen.
The original was painted using watercolour onto specially prepared canvas.
